This is a beautiful anchorage right below Hearst Castle and has good holding and good protection from the prevailing seas and wind from the northeast. This is an unsafe anchorage in winter storms coming from the south or southwest. Landing on the beach can be tricky when any kind of swell is coming into the bay. You would think there would be a ladder on the pier but there isn't :- (
