Relocated to west bay, O. Lanta, from E bay, O. Nisyros. Dropped anchor in sandy patch but anchor dragged until it grabbed a rock. Despite synoptic wind being southerly, about 20kn, we consistently pointed N to NE. I guess its a vortex set up by the topography. Anchor chain dragged noisily across rocks all night. Couldn't be paid to return!!

Anchored in 6m on sand patch. Water clear enough to see sand and rocks. Excellent holding. However despite a synoptic SEly the wind persisted in coming in strong gusts from the ENE. With forecast for building winds overnight we decided to go round to the west bay, the other side of the small shingle beach.. See review for that location for a sleepless night!!!
