Good holding on sandy bottom. Avoid sides as large underground chains. Another boat got a lot of metal rubbish wrapped around anchor. Protection from swell and wind in any direction. Very noisy on the beach all hours. Very busy at weekends with day boats

Everything has been said about the protection and interest of the site. Small flat! The presence of oil tanks on shore and the unloading dock crude that we can obviously not look but that we sometimes feel during unloading. In addition to the chain we must also be careful not to anchor in the remains (metal) of a wreck not shown on maps and located in the center of the bay. Having dive 7 years ago to verify its existence I confirm its presence on a few m2 only. Conclusion: Anchor more to the left or more to the right. For me it is also a protection (tested over 15 years) at 360 degrees since we are inside the port. The only movement (and still ...) that I got was by NE / E storm that creates a kind of surf.

Great all round shelter inside the harbour on 7-5m sand. Very popular swimming bay, but we were on our own overnight. Cafe and food truck, Mr Whippy visited a few times too. 5 mins walk to convenience store. Spectacular views across to Valleta. Shower & tap ashore.
