The anchorage outside of La Cruz marina is not really protected. There's a little, but the main thing is the wind and chop that start around noon and last until late at night. Get all you need done ashore in the early morning and get back to the boat before noon, otherwise it's a wet and bumpy ride back to the boat. Small grocery stores in town, a tortillera, and some good local restaurants in the main town. Check out the homemade ice cream shop off Langoata street, fruit popsicles are delicious. Thearina does not have potable water and they charge for using it (despite not being drinkable---only for washing the boat). Paradise avillage marina across the bay does and it's free.
