A word of warning: Zante Harbour, Zakynthos, Greece Don’t get ripped off when visiting Zante by boat. When you enter the port there will be some official looking guys waving and directing you to a free spot. They will take your lines, take pictures of your boat papers and let you sign some papers in Greek language. Then they ask for a fee that is almost tripple of the official fee and also sell you overpriced key cards for water and electricity. After you paid, they hand over a business card which identifies them as “Shipping Agents” of the company YCZ, Yachting Club Zakynthos (http://yachtingclubzakynthos.gr/) By signing the Greek language papers you may have officially authorised them to rip you off. They even charged us a 10 Euro “line handling” fee just for taking our lines when we backed up to the quay.

Great place to stop but in a Southerly gale harbour gets choppy and puts a strain on the anchor. Water and electricity €5 a day EACH. SUPERMARKET within walking distance. Good restaurants and connections to airport. Need to book ahead. Gets very busy.
