Well protected from the habitual North/North-West winds. Some swell finds its way around the island and in to the bay as is common in the Canary Islands, Clearly the anchorage would be untenable with winds in the southern quadrant. In spite of appearances, the sandy beach is a recent artificial creation so anchoring is over rocks and stones. A trip line is recommended. Sadly the beach is closed to the public pending the resolution of a legal dispute between the resort owner Anfi, and local and regional Governments. Two security guards patrol the beach and will not hesitate to call the local police or Guardia Civil should you insist on accessing the beach; in spite of Spanish Law being on your side! This is a shame as the two traditional looking restaurants behind the beach seem to be of a rare authenticity for this coast.

Great anchorage with sandy bottom for anchoring. No easy land access as beaching can be tricky due to the swell hitting the beach and no dingy dock until Puerto Rico marina. There is a large Spar shop in the resort area nearby. This anchorage can be prone to large surf swells.

Quiet anchorage in front of the beaches.

    Mouillage tranquille devant les plages.
