The anchorage, quiet with good protection and access to the beach. A pity that the minor sea smells bad and has been so neglected. Dirty water and poor visibility. Good grip.

El fondeadero, tranquilo con buena protección y acceso a la playa. Una pena que el mar menor huela mal y se haya descuidado tanto. Agua sucia y poca visibilidad. Buen agarre.

Very good protection from swell on the whole mar menor. Stayed here 2 nights, shifting winds but always comfortable, no swell ever! Even in strong winds from the south. Make sure you leave enough chain out. The weeds are insane and everybody drags all the time. Very nasty business getting the chain and anchor up. Took 20 Min to get the weeds off the chain and then the anchor. But Good hiding spot for if you have to either go north or south and the winds are wrong. We stayed in Mar menor in different spots for 1,5 weeks, waiting for good winds. Water not so nice for swimming (I really wouldn’t!) but nice to catch up on sleep and have some fun sails around the lake.

This is a very well-protected anchorage in the summer when the prevailing winds are from the NE. The holding is good, but we observed many local boats bringing up forests of weed on their anchors when they lifted them. We didn’t experience this though. We avoided swimming in the water as it appeared (and smelled) a little unsavoury. There are no facilities on the island at all, but access is easy and the locals flock there during the day.
