Anchor in 3 -4 meters of sand but don’t get anywhere near the beach as it is quite shallow a good distance from the beach. Holding was good with a slight swell and almost no wind, this would not be a good anchorage if there was swell predicted. This is a good spot to explore the town, you can call a taxi, Şevki 05353333913, and he will pick you up at the harbor or at the end of the river and bring you into town or to explore Myra. In town is good provisioning and restaurants. Don’t miss the church of St. Nikolaus while in town. Across from the end of the river where we brought our dingy to was the museum of the Andriake Ancient City. We spent more time here than the other 2 sites combined.

Take a taxi from the limani or dinghy 2kms up the creek to the weir and walk 2kms into Demre. From there you can visit the ancient city of Myra and the church of Saint Nikolaus. The Andriake Ruins are near the weir and are an amazing site to visit. The taxi ride from the limani to Myra is approximately 40tl - call Şevki on 0535 333 39 13 This place is definitely worth a visit

If you don’t mind some swell in the most winds, this is the ideal spot to take your dingy and go upstream until the little dam/restaurant just 2km in front of Demre town. The creek itself is very nice, saw 3 turtles, many kolibri en other birds.. Don’t anchor or go with dingy near the beach, it’s all sand but very shallow
