4 stars because anchorages sheltered from the swell are rare in the Canaries. And it is good to be able to rest. You can anchor quietly on sand between 5 to 6m. Possibility of landing on the beach but only at rising tide because otherwise large pebbles uncover over several tens of meters. A beautiful bay, crystal clear water and a beautiful beach unfortunately surrounded by many wind turbines and an agricultural area on one side and activity on the other. Village 10 minutes walk.

It might not be particularly picturesque and it is very winding, being in the acceleration zone.... but it’s an absolute godsend of an anchorage when trying to get North to Las Palmas. It is blowing 35 kts outside but the water is calm and smooth. Holding is good also. You can use Google Earth to see where the sand is. Anchor west of the leading light on the pier in around 6m. If this were not such a good stopping off refuge then I’d give it only 2 stars but since it is so well placed for going North then I give it 4!

I was anchored here for about 1 week. You have to be aware of the exhilaration effect of the wind here. There is usually quite an uplift in that area which makes it very popular for kite and wind surfing. The water is beautiful clean. And the commercial harbor is not very much in use. So it’s very quiet. When there is no to little wind it’s a nice place to stay. If there is wind forecasted, then you should add another 15 knots to what is predicted. So it can quickly become very uncomfortable. Not much shelter.
