Narooma bar is one of the most dangerous entrances in Australia. Seek advice from Marine rescue and local people. Slack water is needed to enter. It’s a dangerous run out tide which produces dangerous conditions to enter. Can’t exaggerate how difficult this entrance can be. You can be easily turned broadside and capsized. You should enter at speed and ride the back of an entering wave if you can. There are moorings at montage island for vessels who are reluctant to enter here. This spot near the beach may be good for very shallow draft vessels. Such as catamarans but you would need to tie up stern to because there’s not much swinging room. It can be calm here. There is a a wharf for charter boats but the tidal flow is very strong and do not recommend unless assisted by local knowledge. You can’t take a yacht up the river because of a road bridge (it does open but you need local knowledge there are lots of shoals).
