The holding in this anchorage is excellent and it is very protected. To get ashore, take dinghy into the small marina (Viento de Levante) just beneath the suspension bridge (see photo) and leave it on the waiting pontoon (see photo). The marineros will let you in through the secure gate at the end of the pontoon. They are very friendly and helpful. One point to note is that the seabed is mud - and there is a fair bit of debris. Our anchor got caught around something wooden which left lots of wooden shavings glued to the chain. We held well here in up to 40 knots, but when the wind comes from the SE, a large swell built up, which loosened our anchor from the mud bottom, causing us to drag. We found moving to a spot near the beach resolved this.

Good holding with muddy bottom and protected from most winds. Great view of the bridge, which is lovely at night. Very little noise heard from the bridge. Surroundings are a bit industrial but good for an overnight on way yo Gibraltar.
