A month of confinement in Maio brought us a lot: the kindness of its inhabitants as well as a great sweetness of life. The bottom is composed of good sand especially in the 6 meters to 100 m of the dike. Forget the arrival in the annex on the beach, it's rock and roll. On the dike, a metal ladder supplemented with a rope ladder is safer. You can moor the stern to a small dead body. The port warden (Mr. Silva) speaks perfect French, he is always ready to help.

Porto Ingles is a beautiful town with friendly laid back locals and lovely sandy beaches. The anchorage is exposed to southerly swell and can be quite rolley at times, landing a dinghy can be impossible, we swam to the beach when we were there. Good restaurants and a selection of small shops in town.

Mooring by 10m in sand ... good behavior ... beautiful white sand beach. A little rouleur Moor the annex preferably on the right side of the beach, on the rocky peak where are all the fishing boats ... lanyards to fix the mooring of the annex and let drift .. a staircase then allows to climb. The arrival on the beach can be tricky due to the rollers. Beautiful village in its historical part with warm welcome. New constructions ruin the unity of the whole. Worth the detour.
