Do not anchor here. The guard came in the morning and said it was a protected area. They were really hostile. I explained my anchor was on sand, the charts had an anchor sign there but I would go, only if I have to lift it by hand so it would take me a little while. “Go immediately “ they replied, circling my boat until I lifted chain. Really aggressive :(

This is a Protected Area (zone "B"): you can get there by boat, but you cannot give any grounds other than with the authorization of the managing body (which does not understand who he is and how to contact him: to hear the Municipality of Milazzo). For more information see the Official Gazette of 6/3/2019. The areas on which it is possible to establish merits are indicated in the last update (No. 8, of 2019) of the card 246. As for the approach, I believe that also in this area the ordinance of the Harbor Office on the bathing must be respected that foresees (Vers. 2019) to hold itself to 300 mt from the beaches and to 100 mt from the coasts to peak, DURING L TIMETABLE FOR BATHING (ie from 9.00 to 19.00).

I anchored here for one night as it was the only place that I could find shelter from strong S/SE winds. East and West of the peninsula it was blowing 20kn with gusts to 35kn. There was virtually no wind at sea level in the bay. The swell does find its way in though. It has been reported that anchoring is not permitted how ever I have not found any official designation as a Marine Reserve. The 300m rule may be enforced, however as the beach is only accessible from the sea calling it a designated bathing area would seem unfair.
