We slept here only 1 night , and we did not have any problem with the local Navy. The spot is quiet beautiful. It was not windy at all when we slept there but i don t see why it could not be well protected when blowing from the N.W. N to the N.E.. It is easy to find a good patch of Sand in about 9meters of depth. Enough room to drop lot of chain, specially as it is deserted by yachts.... Nice beach, very quiet, nice view on the whole bay of Palermo.

It would appear after talking to local people you can only anchor here in the north in July to end of September. It is far better to go to the dock near the castle the katabatic winds from the hills can be very strong and unpredictable during the night.

Stunning anchorage, cool caves to explore...we struggled to find a good holding as the ground is very hard....great shelter from swell but experienced heavy unpredictable winds coming down off the mountain with gusts of 25-30 knots while it was only blowing 10. No issues with military.
