Holding is good, murky water and 1000’s of jellyfish. They do not sting but unpleasant for swimming. Paying for the bridge was simple. €35 for us. However, when the time came (sometime after 9, which turned out to be 11pm), we were not told to prepare only to pass the bridge NOW! There was a lot of shouting in Greek on the radio and boats were being called to pass the bridge from the other side before we were through. A bit chaotic in our experience.

Come to anchor here to wait for the opening of the bridge after having paid the transit fees to the red quay on the coast of Evia. Mooring in good mud, but without any interest with the road which makes a lot of noise, and a little murky water not very pleasant for swimming ... In short, come as late as possible and wait impatiently for be called to cross the bridge - for our part, the first call on behalf of our boat at 3:30 am to tell us to prepare, then at 4:00 am to pass. Apart from the long wait with the VHF on standby without being able to fall asleep too much because we know the opening time, crossing the bridge is nothing complicated.

The ideal place to wait for the bridge to open. Coming from the south I recommend first of all to moor on the red pier to starboard before the bridge, and to carry out the necessary paperwork in the port office in front and then to anchor, opposite, waiting for the opening. From this year everything is done in one place. The opening hours of the bridge are variable and to be sure, just read the notice posted daily on the sides of the bridge (visible if you cross on foot) or by calling the harbor master's office at 22210-28888. Half an hour before opening, the harbor master calls each boat on the Vhf 12.
