    Simara | Sailboat ~ 12 m

Anchoring close to the port is complicated due to the number of closely packed fixed moorings. The boats on this moorings swing on very tight radii so if you do find a spot to anchor amongst them and put down enough chain to feel safe you will easily swing into one of these boats. Away from the fixed moorings is largely rock with some sand patches. Unfortunately this far out from the port you get a lot of swell refracting around the breakwater.

There is a charge for the night at anchor, unless you go just south of the buoys, there it looks like sand but it is rock, from 12/15 knots established from northeast, it starts to move a little. Good performance, however, moderately clean water.

Anchored in 4 meters. Beautiful location, but be careful arriving after dark. When we arrived, more than half the boats that were buoyed or anchored had no mooring light on, despite people being aboard. Also watch out for scattered mooring balls. The ferries come in and out continuously until well after midnight. Watch your charts carefully because the bottom comes up quickly.
