    Imagine | Sailboat ~ 14 m

Well sheltered from the swell in the lagoon, not from the wind. Good hold bottom. Watch out for the large drafts at the sandbanks in the area. Access to the delicate lagoon if large swell.

This was listed in my 1998 cruising guide as an anchorage. Arriving Rio Formosa at 02:00 and not willing to anchor outside the Breakwater with 30 kts it was easy to get in the breakwater and find the green by 1 and 3. There is a shallow bank to the WNW so stay a good bit east, I was 20m from By 3 at low spring tide and still had a water depth of 2.5m. A town on Isla Culatra would be easily reachable by Dinghy but Faro is Miles away from here. Sand and seaweed bottom.
