The best place to anchor is by approaching the Grande Haven Marina from the east (not too much though). The chop by SE will be less violent there. Some are on dead bodies ... watch out for the legacy. The dinghie dock at the marina is super chic, very popular, and quite safe. Obviously, lots of morons mistake the anchorage for a dinghy speed track, which helps to make it quite hectic. Carefully avoid the seaplane runway to the west. It sucks. The north of the bay, closer to the city, is quickly exposed to a powerful chop. In February 2021, customs refused to make an exit clearance to Culebra. In fact, Culebra is not asking for anything ... So there is no need to go and continue west. In the marina, the Moe supermarket is very fancy and ... expensive. At 5 minutes, the large Pueblo is much more affordable but less chic. Opposite is the public self-service laundromat (charged). Please note: no showers except on the beaches ... but the toilets in the marina are open. $ 3 per bag to drop off your garbage. Payable at the marina.

A good spot for provisioning/short stay. Anchorage is always rolly and a bit uncomfortable. Lots of wakes from ferries and other boat traffic. Tie dinghy up at the end in Yacht Haven marina. Fuel was $3.85/gallon as of Feb. 2019. Pueblo market is a good store with most items. Best place is Pricemart, which is the same as Costco. Take the $2 open bus there and you can get a free day pass to shop with a photo ID. Taxis wait outside to bring you back down the hill if you have too much shopping to take on the bus.
