We found this beach an okay place to anchor in calm weather when we sailed through the Straits. It was calm here, no music from shore, although there is a road and occasional trains, we sat watching the big ships roll by and the sun set over Sicily. We anchored in 10-13m, great hold immediately, I would happily use this anchorage again. For tidal streams in the strait: http://www.correntidellostretto.it

I got wet in 6m of water at SE bathing buoys. Background of good behavior. There was over 15 knots of north wind and I was totally protected from the choppy. The downside is the smell of garbage on fire. There was a big smoke 1 km from the anchorage which was turned down by the wind.  I think it's a garbage dump that burns garbage. The smell was really unpleasant and there was ashes on the boat. Out of the smoke perfect wetting.

Used this Anchorage again last week May 2019, same as before a nice calm night. Moved in shore a little to 8-9 metres depth. There are some unlit mooring bouys (yellow) we stayed south of them.
