Heavenly anchorage in a natural setting, surrounded by mangroves. Very calm atmosphere close to the big city. Very protected from the weather and very safe. A rastamen team offers services: delivery of bread, drinking water, taxi, work on the boat, guarding the boat in the absence of the owner, advice, tourist walks in the area. There is a bar and a restaurant. 15 minute walk to shops and buses and taxis to the town of Serekunda. It is the perfect place to spend time before and after a trip on the river.

Great place to spend some time. The Rasta community can help you with anything you need. From fresh bread in the morning to water in your tank. In return they hope for a small remuneration. After spending some nice weeks here, suddenly an argument occurred between me and the Rasta tribe. My dog fought with a cat owned by the Rasta boys ( my dog lost) so I chased the cat away by throwing a tennis ball. After this, one Rasta got really angry with me for that. He swore at me and although I understood why he was angry, I did not understand or approve of the aggression. The whole tribe chased me to my dingy and I went anchor up. I just got away without it getting physical. And I thought we were friends! I guess this kind of situation would not happen to the average sailor. Anyway, don’t overstay your welcome there. Although very tempting, be careful not to mingle too much. Don’t miss this place! Adventure calls!

Secured anchoring. Good holding. Various sailing boats in various states. Rasta community on shore. Friendly and helpful. You can join late lunch for a small contribution. There is a small “restaurant” and “Lekkere” ( on google maps) is walking distance away. The “lodge” is falling apart since the founder passed away. For the final 300 meters keep well starboard along the mangroves. Monkeys will welcome you.
