You need to have obtained an anchoring permit and permission to anchor from https://www.iatlanticas.es/html/index5032.html?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=200077&lang=en We anchored in 8m, in very calm W or NW winds early in the morning. By lunch time the anchorage was very busy, and the ferry was disgorging large groups of tourists ashore. To avoid the crowds, the best time for a private yacht to go ashore is either before the first ferry (11am) or after 4pm. When we visited the museum was closed (Covid-19?) and the only permitted routes were to the lighthouse and to the village.

We booked for two nights but only stayed for one because of the swell and the weather changed unexpectedly (heavy fog). Also a lot of lobster pots were put out in the evening all around. These were collected early morning. We rowed ashore in the afternoon and had a pleasant walk. All attractions were closed due to covid.

Beautifull anchorage, good holding, when the swell from the ocean gets bigger you have not much protection by the island. When you are here off season, only the walk to the lighthouse is permitted. the nature is beautiful and wild (friendly) horses come close by!
