We stayed here just one night for a stopover. It was deserted. The anchorage rolls a lot. It is in the exclusion zone (dangerous zone because of the volcano), it is just at the limit. To anchor there, you must therefore find out what the activity level of the volcano is. For this, we consulted the Facebook page of the volcano observatory, there are weekly reports.

Much better protected than Little Bay. Still very open and rolly, but northerly swell is less than further north. Anchor on 7 m, black sand, very good holding, very clear water (although it might not seem to be when looking at it from the boat - that‘s because of the black sand not reflecting light). 45 min walk to the lookout platform on Garibaldi Hill from the beach bar. Observatory is a 25 min walk from the northern end of the bay (go with dinghy there). No place to lock the dinghy, need to pull it up the beach.
