This is a nice alternative to Contadora, albeit with only one property on the island so very quiet. The beach is lovely and there is a shady spot for a BBQ under some trees on the right of the beach. The current is quite strong between the islands, but the holding was good. The Pearl Islands have a different feel to the San Blas islands on the Caribbean side of Panama, with a few palm trees, more trees and thick vegetation. The sea bed is also more muddy so the sea doesn’t have that turquoise look of the San Blas, but generally the island was cleaner. Remember the tide here is significant when taking your dinghy to the beach. Well sheltered in a Northerly, but less so in a South Easterly.
