Anchorage noted on the maps but banned by the local police because natural park. Port Managers provide docking at the entrance to the harbor. The pier is high, dirty, without water or electricity but with access to the city. Access to the port is limited to the entrance to the docks reserved for big ferry, so subject to the vagaries of the tide. Acceptable to stay a few hours, always next to the boat, but not a night. In the event of a big blow from the west, you can get behind the port to the east of the dikes, but the swell sometimes rushes. In conclusion to avoid!

We even weren’t close to drop the anchor, when a pilot boat approached us and informed us that anchoring is prohibited. This applies to both sides of the Punta de Tarifa island. On the east side, fines are doubled because it‘s also prohibited to anchor close to the marina entrance, even if not blocking or interfering with traffic. Strange that several independent issues of charts and regional guidebooks are all wrong... We checked the marina, but decided to not stay there, avoiding a potential damage to the boat or getting some of the cockroaches that even weren’t shy of bright daylight sun.

Mooring noted in the maps, yet banned by local authorities. They force us to settle on a stone bridge, high, dirty, without water and electricity. The police are nice because it is not supposed to allow it. Possibility to go to town with passport. To be discouraged
