I’m so confused that none of the reviews for this anchorage mention that it’s FULL (and I’m talking 50+) of private moorings. The majority of which are boats with nobody on board. There was a large storm here back in Jan 2020 and 27 boats ended up on the beach as a result. We came here to wait out a storm in September 2020 because we read about the 360 protection but it was difficult to find a space and the holding further out isn’t great, so we ended up going in the marina. Yes it’s very pretty and it’s easy to go ashore but I wouldn’t consider staying here in any kind of adverse weather.

The anchorage is great. Very calm and shallow (good follow your gps). The village is worth visiting. The walk is very nice. All cafes open at 8:30 am ... great for breakfast! 👍 It's a Canadair base ... we were able to watch a takeoff and landing ... the kids loved it!

Good holding in a choppy sea & wind, busy with boats ect in & out of marina. Quite a distance to dinghy ashore with the dog but if you go to the end of the stone wall by the canoe stands (shore end) you can tie up & walk the dog. There are rubbish bins there.
