After trying to anchor at Punto Di Pozzoli where the wind and the waves made us leave, we came to calm down behind the commercial port. At first glance we say yuck it's not glamorous. But once the 2 ferries have left, we have a beautiful view of the old town. The setting is ultimately quite pleasant. Many boats seem to be abandoned and some are beached like this Bavaria 430 silted up but upright on its keel and unfortunately had to be plundered from its fittings. A perfect night on a sea of oil without a hint of wind.

Just spent 3 very good nights in this anchorage, in light winds. We were a bit concerned going in, because of the other reviews we'd read but we didn't experience any of the reported issues. There was no swell and the ferries only ran 2 times a day in early morning and evening so we didn't get a lot of wake. We didn't have any problems with speedboats. We anchored in the middle of this bay in 4 meters. It is dense mud and provided good holding. We dropped our anchor and pulled back slowly, as recommended, and it dug in well. Porto Vecchio is a lovely old town with a nice atmosphere and lots of bars, restaurants and shops. The nearest big supermarket is L eclerc, about a 10 min walk from the marina. There is a small dinghy dock in the north west corner of the marina. The marina were also happy for us to leave the dinghy on the pontoon in front of the capitanier the first time we went in.

Good anchorage in mud, for a visit to porto Vecchio this is a perfect anchorage. The water is troubled and looks dirty so no swimming here. Not to many issues with racing motorboats. We stayed 48 hours amd only 2 ferry’s passed in the shipping lane.
