We returned to this anchorage and were surprised by winds of force 10 from the west. No choice to stay at anchor here, too dangerous to go to sea for Lipari. Our anchor held up even though the gusts of 50/60 knots shook us a bit in all directions. We were even a boat's length from the beach while being 4m deep. Best option for westerly winds, even if they are violent!

Best anchorage option available at the time, short dinghy to the beach, to walk to meet our hiking group up to the volcano. We had to get really close to the beach to get to 16m but we’re probably a bit too close to the beach, wind coming from north. We were the only larger boat at the time but woke up and there were two other boats anchored quite close and had to move quickly. Wind shifted and we had a lot of chain. Black sand, lots of jellyfish. Beaches dinghy next to ferry dock.

Good hold in black sand bottom. You have to get quite close to the beach because the bottom goes down very quickly.
