We anchored overnight south of the usual anchorage on the west coast of Stromboli - principally to have more room. The beach shelves away very quickly so we anchored in 10-12 meters but it felt we were very close to the beach. So perhaps not a good choice if wind is on shore. But anchor held well and we enjoyed the rare solitude.

mid August no free buoys. we found an anchorage along the beach to the south. In a single blow the funds go up to 10 meters on a hundred meters of length. Mooring protected from So to No. The ashes of the volcano have sprinkled the boat.

Very nice anchorage by 20m of bottom on volcanic sand. Superb little village to discover at the foot of the volcano but no port, you can either beacher the annex or moor at the single dock. At 15 August any hike prohibited on the volcano causes too much activity. Beware of mooring a rain of ash quickly covered the deck of the boat, it goes to the vacuum cleaner. But magical place very wild and mythical, very rare to spend a night next to an erupting volcano. Impressive.

Impressionnant.
