Hire moorings available from Rottnest Island Authority - see web site. Yellow moorings May only be used by authorised vessels. Landing fee required to be paid to RIA. Anchoring in Thompson’s Bay only on south side of “army jetty” groin and subject to passing boat wake and weedy bottom Thompson’s Bay susceptible to easterly breezes in summer mornings that make it very choppy/uncomfortable. Good protection in afternoon S-SW sea breezes. Better albeit small anchorage in nearby Longreach Bay.
