Very good mooring on sand / vase bottom. Good holding of the anchor. Surrounded by two pretty villages, a bus serves the monastery, Chora. Many restaurants and shops. Calm. Better sheltered from NW winds than docked on the other side of the bay.
We anchored here for 3 days and nights in 8m over sand in a F3/4 and held fine. You need to anchor as far north in the bay as the depths allow as boats are moved on by someone official to make space for the huge Blue Star ferry who visits once/twice per day (5am on Monday’s - joy) and the Small Cyclades ferry who arrives at 6pm and leaves at 6am. The town is split into two parts, the busier side where the quay is (which has a few nice enough restaurants) and the north side which has a very village-like feel to it with its fishing boats and cute water side restaurants. We found two small supermarkets near the ferry quay. Suggest hiring a car and visiting the Chora, the monastery and the wreck of the Olympic.

Very good mooring on a soft mud background. the village is very welcoming with many restaurants, bakery, butcher, hardware very busy. A bus drives every hour round to the monastery.
