Town quay is now open again. You can choose between Town quay And "Marina" with electricity And water. Toilets And showers not operating. The blue shirts guys, you can tell them that you dont want help and handle everything yourself, then you pay the harbour master something like 10€/night, 5€ for electricity and 5€ for unlimited water (low pressure). If you accept help, then you pay one time help fee 10€, 20€ per night and 5€ for electricity and 5€ for water. Because of late arrival I had accepted help. There was the last place at 5 with no clear point to tie to. It was okay but double price. They are not rude or anything just be prepared to decline help as soon as possible.

Good mooring, but….. Zakinthos is a nice place, with lot of shops, restaurants, etc. Good shelter, good holding. As recommended here, we contacted Isala travel. They send us instructions by what’s app and said a Mr Marinos would help and welcome us. Asking a bit further, they confirmed it was ‘the blue shirts’ and so a service to pay for. ‘It is optionally otherwise you can anchor on yourown and you can pay just the fee of the port at Mrs Marina (The port Agent) that she will be in the afternoon after 18.00 in the port.’ So we answered we’d do it by ourselves (you can what’s app that choice to +30 694 161 5135). The man on the quay wasn’t friendly in the beginning, but when he got the message from his office, it was ok. The gasoline guy of a Shell station was also there. We were allmost empty, so asked him to fill. A main tank of 210 liter and a jerrycan of 20 liter, he managed to fill with 264 liters in total. It was on zero when he started, so it seems like he has a button to add non used liters to the total. I told him the amount of liters wasn’t possible, he just pointed at the meter. As we didn’t have energy to discuss further, we paid him. As the water on the pillarvwas running, we decided to fill. The blue shirt guy came and shut it down, he said we had to pay for water at the port office, as we didn’t use his service. Later the same guy came to us together with the gasoline man and told that the gasoline man pays for our water. We’re still asking why he did this. Anyway: the blue shirt and the Shell gasoline man work together in robbing sailors.. Please make sure someone is constantly checking the meter of the gasoline truck. There seems to be a lot of ways to cheat with it!

Unfortunately it was absolutely impossible for us not to take the help of the YCZ. We said several times that we don't need any help. You do the port registration for the 20 euro assistance fee and provide electricity and other work. Port another 10 euros fee. Electricity 5 euros. A little hint, in Katakolon the city quay costs 8 euros a day and a drinking water filling costs 4 euros directly at the port without a tanker.
