We tried to book the marina a week in advance but were told to just call on the day because it's not normally a problem. We called in the morning and were told there was no space and to call back in a few hours (they wouldn't even call us when/if a space became available). We waited a couple of hours, spoke to someone new, and it would appear there was always space. As we arrived they had a strange square metal thing with an outboard on to 'assist' us on which was just a nuisance, a marinero also jumped on board (without asking) at the last minute to help with lines but was just a hindrance. The bow slime lines were too short so we had to extend them. All of which would have been much easier if we were left to sort it ourselves. The office argued over boat length (for the sake of 10cm). After 2 days at around 11:45 when we were due to leave we had a marinero asking if we were staying another night, we said no and that we'd be gone in an hour, after a lengthy radio call with the office he said we needed to vacate by 12:30 (a difference of 15 mins!) although he seemed apologetic about the pettiness. Sure enough just before 12:30 he could be seen cycling nearby to ensure we left on time (which i have never experienced before). The visitor berths are private berths the marina let out when the owners are away so I would be interested to know if the owner sees any of the money. All in all we found the marina overpriced and the staff, although pleasant at first, quite unhelpful.
