We stayed overnight here. Very quiet well past Cowes itself. Best arrival on a rising tide or stick rigidly to the channel.... Moorings all to be paid for ... Around £2 a metre on orphaned pontoons there is a water taxi but best with own dinghy. A couple of moorings at pub but they were full and double the price . No anchoring. Pub Greene king brand acceptable food at low prices but nothing startling. Lovely spot all in all.

Folly Inn is a great lunch stop up the Medina river. Call Folly Berthing master on Ch72 and usually a slot is found either on the walk ashore or on the mid-river pontoons. Trips into Cowes easily done making use of the water taxi. If you’re on the walk ashore then it’s less than 60 paces to the Folly Inn pub. A few miles up river from the entrance, but well worth it! Not much in the way of facilities on the pontoons but that’s not the reason or attraction of this location.
