Gloucester Docks, an old port connected to Bristol Channel by sixteen mile long ship canal. Often seagoing motorboats tied up and very occasionally a sailboat but we have failed to secure permission to bring our sailboat here despite three visits to Harbour Office, numerous phone calls and emails. Harbour Office geared for canal/river barges and fail to understand need of deeper draft vessels. If anybody has been granted permission to visit and stay longer than 48-hours, be very interested to understand the process! Our rating based on regular visits by car/bicycle.
