Terribly rolly because of the pilot boats and fishermen coming in and out. The water was full of trash and wood floating around. 30-40 min to Porto city centre with bus+metro, with only bus in high traffic it took 1 hour. Decent showers.

Industrial, very cheap port. Not nice, but practical. The water in the harbor is full of rubbish, flotsam and dead animals. The swell is sometimes quite rough. The boat must be well attached and damped. Friendly, helpful staff and nice neighbors (sailing clubs). The showers and toilets are always clean and well maintained, although they are not the nicest / newest. In contrast to much more expensive marinas, you can adjust the shower heat and look in the mirror, even if you are over 1.8m tall. Direct, fast connection to Porto by bus and metro. In Leça and Matosinhos there is already everything you could need for shopping. Clear recommendation for cruising sailors who want to keep their money together and still want to spend time exploring.

I wintered 6 months on pontoon. These move enormously the Portuguese swell returned well in winter. The pontoons are often patched up. The staff is friendly and accomodating. At the showers it was clean. The city center is 10 minutes walk and Porto is a very beautiful city. So good stop but very rolling.
