Very practical mooring with marina to leave the annex, to refuel, plenty of shops nearby, a very inexpensive vegetable market, a very good baker and all you need. It's a bit far from Basse Terre to visit but it does it anyway. On the other hand, very crowded and not great for monohulls with a draft greater than 1.50m. Still a lot of wind but not rolling. To rent a car I recommend Claudine at +33690741505.

Good anchorage without swell. Pay attention to the depth. There are 2 meters deep. See less in some places. Lots of boats, some on the buoy. The lagoon is a real swimming pool. For the PMT it's not terrible. I was able to enter the marina for a 2 hour technical stopover without paying. Be careful when leaving the marina to pass between the green beacon and the floating sausage.

One of our favourite spots in Guadeloupe. There's an excellent water sport centre on the beach just west of the lagoon. Make sure to stroll around in the city. Throw garbage behind the marina office across the road. A bit anxious to enter this anchorage, after reading other comments, but it was no sweat at all. If you can enter a marina, you can aim trough the "Champagne Pass". The swell was gentle in 20+kts ESE wind, somewhat bigger in 25kt. Tip: Keep some speed in the boat to counter the swell. I liked to "hug" the red markers, and not the green, but make sure you're always in the 'box' (of the four markers) leading in to the lagoon and have a good visual on all of them before entering. The hard part is to find a spot inside as there are many boats (30+ @ 24Dec.) and the depths are somewhat shallow and not too much space to spin around, but just enough - there seem always to be a free space, but be prepared to anchor close to other boats. The town have some excellent shopping, a really nice vibe, and I enjoyed dinghy over to the windsurf rental centre 100m away to blast around in the beautiful lagoon. Monohull 37'', 1.95m draft.
