Beautiful anchorage with a view of Montagne Pelee and a small town. Cloudless day it’s really amazing. Anchorage is deep so everyone is packed in the long stripe close to the shore. Just go south the Saint Pierre as you find an empty spot. We came at night which was fine, bottom is sand. First two nights were super flat, today there is a bit of swell. First day was easy to beach our dinghy, today we didn’t try, as the wave was smashing kind of steep beaches. Saint Pierre has a dinghy dock, very high one. The zoo is closed under construction.

We went through this anchorage to visit the Zoo, which is also very pretty, 300m from the beach. The outfit is identical to St Pierre, 5/6 long distance on sand, 50m of chain. On the other hand, the spot is a thousand times quieter and more wild, with a small bar that makes fish and kebabs. Very cool, we will come back to it rather than to St Pierre.

We had a very rolly night but our catamaran behaved quite well and 40 mt chain plus a good anchor alarm helped to have some sleep. It’s 1,5km to St.Pierre dock. Very calm anchorage. We dinghied to town for clearance, a biere and some shopping. Very disappointed by the town, it was almos deserted with just a supermarket and the clearance Alsace a Key Restaurant open. We spent a night there to sail north to Guadeloupe early the next morning. Beware of the fishing buoys approaching, they are everywhere. The view of the Volcano is amazing.
