The permit for anchoring in the protected marine area is mandatory for boats but not for boats, therefore over ten meters. This permit does not include the buoy, mandatory and paid for the night and is valid for 24 hours. Recommended for north and north-west winds only. After 7pm you will hardly find anyone.

We bought a permit to anchor online, but here you are forced to pick up a buoy. It was very busy with boats. At 17:30 the park wardens came round to collect fees, which we had to pay. They were very nice, but the permit we already purchased meant nothing. So don't bother trying to do anything in advance otherwise you just pay twice. There are magnificent prehistoric cave paintings on the other side of the island. You can walk to the cave and get a guided tour (in Italian only) to avoid the expense of the jeep or boat to get there, but you have to book on line the day before. Covid rules. You can also easily walk to town from this anchorage.

Nice quiet bay as long as the weather plays along. Ferries occasionally provide Schwell. Good anchorage.

Schöne ruhige Bucht solange das Wetter mitspielt. Fähren sorgen gelegentlich für Schwell. Guter Ankergrund.
