    Havanesey Day | Sailboat ~ 11.6 m

A great anchorage, lots of space, well protected, calm, clear water and a good sandy bottom. We anchored on the North East but it is possible to anchor in the North West, you just need to avoid anchoring within the yellow bouys. We went ashore to Blue Marlin for lunch which was lovely, however it was extremely quiet thanks to Covid. My only complaint is that one of the beach clubs hires a jet ski out to any moron with a credit card and they bomb round the bay far too fast and far too close to the boats. I had to yell at a few of them as there were people swimming.

We have anchored here for 3 very comfortable nights so far (E/NE wind). Excellent hold in sand in the NE corner by the big cliff. Not many party boats or music as some others have reported but maybe this is because of COVID and the fact the famous Blue Marlin beach club is currently closed? No local shops and the beach bars are expensive which is a bit of a downside so make sure you come well stocked. VHF Channel 77 for the water taxis to take you into the beach bars. A tip for fellow cruisers is you can take your rubbish/recycling into the Blue Marlin pier before 10:30am and the ‘boat bins’ are located in the Blue Marlin car park.
