Wetting in mud, the water is very cloudy and muddy. The wind blows very strongly here (venturi effect) as in all the Bay of Fort-de-France, it often comes from the East and North-East. You have to keep an eye on the depth on the maps because the remote background very quickly in some places. Do not get wet in the passage of the shuttles. You can leave the annex in the small bay where the shuttles go. We stayed there just long enough to go ashore, this anchorage really has no interest and is not even attractive.

The holding is variable, shallow and can be crowded because it is quite small if you wish to get close to the village. The deepest areas are in the channel where anchoring would be a hazard to regular ferry traffic. The town had little open when we visited. There is a large supermarket 1 km walk out of town to the North towards Fort de France. We did not stay as we found the place unattractive and a bit pokey.

A quiet and safe anchorage. Good holding in the muddy bottom. There isn't space for a lot of boats. There are a few moorings. The water taxi to Fort de France takes off every half hour during the day time. Trois-Ilets is a pretty little village. The entrance can be a little bit tricky if you do not have the right charts. Most pilots and the charts of navionics are correct. Depths should be more than 3 meters.
