Most friendly marina we went to in the full year of cruising! We needed to take water and diesel, however in the night our son had a minor accident in his bed. The staff used their private laundry machine to get us going in time!!! Place is still starting up, however water, fuel and WiFi available. Looking forward to see the place in a month on the return trip.

Bequia marina is small with a developing boutique style, it’s under new management with a new look and a new feel. It’s ideal for yachts and motor launches up to medium size but definitely not yet suited to super yachts! We needed a place to do some hull repairs and ended up there for two weeks. The team there could not have been more helpful. The dock is concrete with a wooden deck it has substantial mooring bollards. We found the swell less than other places in the bay. The marina has a beach within its confines - the beach is small and popular and the water is clear and clean, it’s one of the only marinas I’d be happy to swim in! There are some new mooring lines in place and the marina manager, Tony, took personal charge of ensuring we were secure. The marina is currently being revamped and is a hive of activity. A large amount of effort (and colour) is going towards a waterside bar and restaurant and a marina market. Opening is expected within the next few weeks and Mike the owner expects to stock the bar with cold beers and wines for sale by the glass. Longer term, his marina plans include fitting dockside electricity posts - at present the staff are only too ready to run you an extension cable. Also, whilst we were there a refurbishment plan of the showers and on shore toilets was underway and looked promising. The marina WiFi signal was fine and the nearby town is sufficiently close to stroll to the shops and yet not so close as to be too noisy - the marina currently has a quiet and peaceful ambience at night - but this may change with the bar opening! The marina readily fixed us up with fuel and water. We were assured that the water is triple filtered and it is certainly better than any water we’ve had in the Caribbean. Likewise, we were told the fuel is brand new and of high quality. Overall we had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the friendly ambience.
