As we approached Port Roses we met a line of wind gusting strongly from the north and on entering the marina we were hailed from the fuel dock and directed to a marinero showing us a berth on the sea wall. We were assisted by a rib, holding us in the 20 knot wind and the marinero on the dock took our lines to tie us up at the stern and hand us the bow lines. The marinero also took our registration document to the Captainerie, a 10 minute walk round the harbour and we didn't pay until we were ready to leave. All the marineros were very helpful and friendly. The toilets and showers are situated behind the fuel dock and were ok (20 euros deposit for the card), washing machine (3 euros) and dryer (2 euros) were in the ladies showers, wifi 9 euros for 3 days. In September 2020 we paid 37.60 euros/night for our 12m sailing yacht. Whilst the sea wall location is open to the public, it was fairly quiet when we were there. 'Condis' and 'Bon Preu' supermarkets are in the very pleasant town and about a 15 minute walk from our seawall berth which seemed to be home for all the 'transitos'. Roses was convenient for a recommended trip to the Dali museum in Figueres, 45 minutes by bus, combined with the 12.95 euro Menu del Dia at the excellent '9 Suprem' restaurant situated a little out of town.

Port accessible in all weather. Automatic petrol station at the entrance to the Port 24/7. The visitors' quay is subject to swell and sensitive to the tramontane (through 90) which in winter can be formidable because in the corridor descending from the mountain. While dangling therefore mooring can prove to be very tricky. An excellent port of passage but not so moored on the west quay.

When entering, dial 9 on your VHF. They speak French. You ask where to put yourself, you are asked to wait. 3 minutes later, a zodiac equipped at the bow to push the boat arrives. It tells you where to put yourself. 2 people are on the quay to retrieve the moorings and return the lines to you. The zodiac maintains your bow while it is mooring. Personally never had such a service in France.

En entrant faites le 9 sur votre VHF. Ils parlent Francais.
