The old town of Rota is worth a visit. Easy to take the ferry to get to Cadiz. Marina very nice. Well secured with a good home and sanitary correct for a price also correct.

La vieille ville de Rota vaut le détour. Facile de prendre le ferry pour se rendre à Cadix. Marina très sympa. Bien sécurisée avec un bon accueil et des sanitaires corrects pour un prix lui aussi correct.

Nice marina that generally accommodates everybody they can. I hauled out and had to argue in order to work and paint my own boat. The nearby Mechanic/chandlers is worthless. They do not carry anything, will not order, and overcharge for sloppy work. I paid 60EUE for a 20min power wash. The guy doing it basically just wet down the boat. No use arguing, it's an awful shop. The marina is accomodating and the bars and restaurants near the marina are nice. El Barrio, further into the town is also a nice little place. Be aware there is a large US Naval base so young soldiers/sailors are always out and often causing problems. As I recall its a fixed daily price for water and another for Electricity, best to check at reception.
