Try and imagine what the perfect host would be if you’re arriving at a new dock... welcoming, take your lines, advise you when and where to drop your anchor, and once you’re safely tied back you are greeted in your own language, be that Greek, Italian, Spanish, English or German. Then to top it off, you’re offered free water and electricity, and he has a restaurant that he’d like you to come to, but without being overly pushy about it. Well if you’d like to meet this person, head along to Agios Nikoloas at the Northern end of Zakinthos, and head for the quay to meet the man himself: Dimitri. He greets all arrivals with the same warmth, a smile seldom leaves his lips, and his generosity surpasses anything I’ve come across before.

There are two tavern owners who help out and moor the berths - front alongside is not good (high threshold). Therefore better with anchor to Dimitris (harbor center), who is very friendly and helpful - electricity and water for free (you should then go to his tavern, which is also very good).
