Anchored in SAND and 10 meters! South of the buoys that are just South of the ferry dock. Fine on nights when there is no easterly wind component. Traffic during the day causes sloppy water. View of Stroboli and other rock formations is very nice.

The buoy field operated by Sea Panarea is located to the N of the ferry jetty and about a 100m or so off the shore. It was quite busy when we visited (September 2018) - a flotilla was also in residence - and so we were secured both bow and stern to ensure no issues with swinging. The only issue with this was that we were beam-on to any onshore swell or wake, resulting in a little bit of roll; no great problem though. The ormeggiatori were very helpful, professional and also offered a free shuttle service ashore. Call ahead ( 39 331 43 64 975 or 39 338 58 64 150) and they will meet you and guide you through the maze of competitor operations. It cost us €60 for the night (mid-September, Sunday). Being located fairly high on the east side of Panarea affords a view out to Stromboli, and after sunset, we were able to sit on the foredeck and watch for the Sciara del Fuoco. Ashore, you have all the delights that San Pietro has to offer, and in the past, we enjoyed a splendid lunch at Hotel Cincotta.

Excellent starting point if you want to leave the boat that will be attached to 2 buoys! And monitored 24/24. Taxi service gommoni includes to disembark. Stromboli excursion with climbing, the boat is safe. Perfect also to refuel or make a small restaurant in Panarea.
