I came to this port for a serious medical emergency (a minor involved). access to the port was denied. Nothing to say more the captain of Port then told me that I could put myself on the outside pontoon after I told him the urgency of my situation so he put me on the outside pontoons? (dangerous from the waves of the ferries) under cover that I make no noise with my crew. Never again it turns out that despite the 4 meters left between the boat and the pontoon (my boat being well moored check the anchor anchor hooked taut and bats put on the back of the boat) the latter violently hit the pontoon while I was at the hospital a colleague to move the boat into the harbor. So I had to start a repair procedure and the harbor master still wanted to fire me from my place under the pretext that it is "his port and he decides" a beautiful place run by a dangerous man the coast guards gave him the impossibility to get me the time of repairs Refresh: after the arrival of a marine expert I was allowed to leave because it was all in order the boat was not risking anything. It turns out that leaving the port after 1 hour of my boat nav I take the water (I removed 800L) so I diverted to naxos and access to the port was once again refused. Police to intervene

Best to call one day before for a berth. Harbour Master is almost always on hand to direct and assist arrivals but don't be surprised if he puts you on the outside corner of a pontoon as charter boats seem to get prefence. Can be a nasty swell at times from the nearby ferry port. Some nice restaurants especially back from the front and good shopping.

Wharfinger Nicolas is a wonderful, hardworking man. Out and about the docks all day long. When you come in if a man yelling ‘Captain’ calls to you, this is probably Nicolas; listen to his direction and advise. Meeting Nicolas will be one of our best memories from Greece. Hope to come back again.
